Shroud of Turin and the Sudarium of Oviedo

As many may already know the Shroud of Turin has gone on exposition from April 19, 2015 to June 24, 2015.  This does not happen frequently.  This exposition is in honor of the 200th celebration of St John Bosco ending on his feast day.  For those interested in learning a bit more about what this image teaches us about the Man in the Shroud I've put together some sites which I've found helpful.

Here is a good site where you can examine the shroud in closer detail:

Also I came across a good video where Donald Nohs, who has spent much of his life studying and meditating on the shroud, gives a good presentation on the sufferings represented in the Man of the Shroud.

I found another interesting website where there is a description of the man of the shroud as a Forensic Pathologist would have made an examination of the evidence.  It has some illuminating insights and observations which I would not have picked up on by myself.

There are also a couple of good sites which talk about the Sudarium of Oviedo which is believed to have covered the face of Jesus after he died on the cross and prior to his burial and being wrapped in the shroud.

Another site has a bit more scientific details and descriptions on the Sudarium.

And here is a good image of the how the overlay of the image of the man in the shroud is believed to coincide with the Sudarium.
