The Story of each soul, written ab eterno by God

O Lord, our Sovereign,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory above the heavens.
Out of the mouths of babes and infants
you have founded a bulwark because of your foes,
to silence the enemy and the avenger.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars that you have established;
what are human beings that you are mindful of them,
mortals that you care for them?

Yet you have made them a little lower than God,
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You have given them dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under their feet,
all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

O Lord, our Sovereign,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Psalm 8

Man is the masterpiece of all of Creation.  Created in an excess of love, in the image and likeness of God, even to being a made a little god.  God was so enamored with him He made Himself the center of him, his life and guard, even giving him all dominion and expecting him to be all His.  God made each of us so beautiful that we were to enchant Him, God.  It's beyond words and proper understanding.  But with sin we, ourselves, placing so little value on ourselves, dirty ourselves with sin, ruining His masterpiece.

“My daughter, you have said nothing about the creation of man - the masterpiece of the creative power, in whom, not in sprays, but in waves, in rivers, the Eternal One poured His love, His beauty, His mastery; and taken by excess of love, He placed Himself as the center of man.   But He wanted a worthy dwelling; so, what does this Uncreated Majesty do?   He creates man in His image and likeness.  He draws a breath from the depth of His love, and with His omnipotent breath He infuses life in him, endowing man with all His qualities, proportioned to a creature, making him a little god.   So, everything you see in Creation was absolutely nothing compared to the creation of man.  Oh! how many more beautiful heavens, stars, suns, He extended in the created soul; how much variety of beauty, how many harmonies.  It is enough to say that He looked at man created, and He found him so beautiful as to become enamored with him.  And jealous of this portent of His, He Himself made Himself the custodian and possessor of man, and said:  ‘I have created everything for you; I give you dominion over everything – everything is yours; and you will be all mine.”

“You will not be able to comprehend everything - the seas of love, the intimate and direct relations, the likeness that runs between Creator and creature.  Ah! daughter of my Heart, if the creature knew how beautiful her soul is, how many divine qualities it contains, and how, among all created things, it surpasses everything in beauty, in power, in light – so much so, that it can be said that it is a little god, and a little world which contains everything within itself – oh! how much more would she esteem herself, and would not dirty with the slightest sin a beauty so rare, so portentous a prodigy of the creative power.   But the creature, almost blind in knowing herself, and much more blind in knowing her Creator, keeps dirtying herself among a thousand filthy things, to the point of disfiguring the work of the Creator; so much so, that she can barely be recognized.  Think, you yourself, of what Our sorrow is.   Therefore, come into my Will, and together with Me come to substitute for our brothers before the throne of the Eternal One - for all the acts which they should do for having been created as a prodigy of love of His omnipotence; and yet, they are so ungrateful.”
Vol. 12, February 24, 1919

For it was you who formed my inward parts;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
that I know very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes beheld my unformed substance.
In your book were written
all the days that were formed for me,
when none of them as yet existed.
Psalm 139: 13-16

Within the Divine Will there is a story of each person.  How this story should develop was written 'ab eterno' by God before they were ever born.  He has loved each of us from before time and each part of our own story even to doing all of our acts for us, held within His bosom ready to be copied as our lives unfold.  Every time we do our own will we spoil this design of God, making erasures to the story He has written for us with so much love.  Instead we change these pages into sorrow and confusion and the story of love becomes vile and base instead.  We were created to be inseparable with our Creator, not as servants but as noble children.  Our every breath and act depends on Him but when we do not allow His Will to reign in us we hold His hands tied and do not let Him develop His story of love for each of us.  W
hen His Will does not reign and we "take control" our acts remain lifeless, without heat, without strength, without divine light.  They are dead of any good, and thereby form evil and end in horror.

My abandonment continues in the Divine Volition I feel hidden by his eternal waves, in which he hides everything, nothing escapes from his immensity, so that one who wants to find everything, embrace everything, hearing the story of each one, must enter in this sea of the Supreme Fiat.  But while my mind was lost in Him, my sweet Jesus, visiting my little soul said to me:

“Blessed daughter, my Will encloses everything, rather for every creature he holds there his written page, of how her story should develop and form her life, and this written page was ‘ab eterno’ written in the light of our Will.  So that the life of every creature in time had its beginning, but in our Supreme Being she didn’t have beginning and she was loved by us with love without beginning and without end.  Now all the Creation, didn’t yet exist and we loved her, because she was already within us: we held the great birth of all creatures enclosed within the Sanctuary of our Divinity, we looked in each one of them (at) our written page, her circumstances, her little tale, and according to this, what was more or less written, what should be completed and glorified our Most Holy Will thus we loved her more intensely.  You didn’t exist, but our Will enclosed you and loving you we gave you the place, the rest on our Paternal knees, we gave you the various lessons on our Fiat, and oh! how much pleasure we took in seeing you listen and write in your soul as copying, that which was written in our eternal page.  Because you should know, that which we want that the creature does of our Will, first becomes done by us, formed by us in our same Volition, and then overflowing from us, he wants to do it and form it in the creature making his field of divine action with her.  So much is our love that we don’t want other than that she does that which we have done, giving her the model of our act, so that she makes the copy of it, and how much help, assistance don’t we give, while she makes the copy, giving her our same Will as her act, as prime material, so that the copy succeeds according to our design.
“Now every act of one who does her will does none other than spoil our design, forming some erasures on our written page.  Our every written word, contained a special and eternal love, it contained the development of her life according to our likeness in which it should enclose his story of love and the completion of his Divine Will toward her Creator.  The human volition doesn’t do other than counterfeit this page, throw into confusion our likeness.  And instead of forming the copy of our page, written with so much love for her, she has formed her page written with notes of sorrow, of confusion and with a story so vile and base that the centuries won’t make a memory of it, and the Eternal One will not find in her the echo of the written story in her page in which his divine story should be praised in the creature.
“My daughter, there is a mistaken knowledge in the base world, and they believe that the creature can live as removed from us:  what mistake!  What mistake!  All the creation is none other than an inheritance gone forth, gone forth from us, hence it is ours; she belongs to us, so much so that although she went forth, but we have brought her forth inseparable from us, and we want the honor, the glory of our inheritance, and that creatures be not our vile servants, but children and as so many princelings of our kingdom.  And this principality is given by the inseparability of our Will, so much so that the creature can not do less of it than with Him, nor can she live, nor separate herself, not even in hell itself.  At the most, some hold him working and some hold him conservative of her being, without giving him the ease to let him work good.  To live without my Will would be like the body living without the soul, that which would be impossible, and one sees that when a member is truncated from the body it doesn’t have motion, it loses the heat and rots because there lacks the soul.  Thus would it be if she might lack my Will, everything would be changed into nothing.
“Now living in my Will is really this, to feel flow in (one’s) whole being, in all the acts, the light, the divine strength, the life of my Will; because where there is not his working life, that act remains without life, without heat, without strength and divine light.  It is as dead for good, and when there is no good inside, it forms evil and finishes with putrefying.  Oh! if the creature might be able to see herself without the working life of my Volition, she would see herself so counterfeit, that she herself would be horrified to look at herself.  Therefore allow yourself to be always overwhelmed by the eternal waves of my Volition in which you will find your written page, your story woven with so much love on you, and thus you will not make an appearance anymore (of) that which we have disposed for you. You will find everything as things that belong to you and that of absolute necessity must form your life, to fill your story, and to satisfy our need of love, that ‘ab eterno’ we wanted to make our Will known.  Be faithful and do not impede our love, and leave us free to develop our admirable designs formed over you.”
Vol. 31 , September 18, 1932

When a soul does not live in the Divine Will the communication between God and the soul, the breath, is stopped and God can not develop His life in the soul as He wants.  This makes the work of Creation incomplete and leaves voids of passions, sins and deformity.  Instead when the soul lives in the Divine Will all her acts become as material for Jesus to build the most sumptuous palace even to stupefy all of Heaven.

...the human family, it turns around us, but since their will is not one with ours, they don’t breath our Volition that puts forth the order, the sanctity, the union, the harmony with its Creator, and therefore it remains scattered, disordered and as lost from us, they are unhappy beings, the peace, the happiness, the abundance of goods is far from them, and all the evil comes from that our Will is not theirs, we don’t breathe each other, and this prevents the communication of our goods, the perfect union with our Supreme Being.  Our creative hand that should form its masterpiece and the most beautiful one in every single creature, because there lacks our Will, it becomes stopped, it doesn’t find their souls pre-arranged, adaptable in order to make our Divine art feasible, where there lacks our Volition we don’t know what to do with that creature.
“Behold the cause why we long so much that our Divine Will reigns and forms there his life in them, because our creative work is impeded, our works suspended, the work of the Creation is incomplete, and in order to obtain this one must be the Will of Heaven and of earth, one the life, one the love, one the breath, and this is the greatest good that we want for creatures, we still hold to do so many beautiful works, but the human volition impedes our step, ties our arms, and makes inactive our creative hands.  Therefore who wants to do our Will and live in Him, gives us the work and we make of her that which we want.
“Now you should know, that as the creature decides to live of Divine Will, she puts to security her salvation, her sanctity, we are in her as in our house, and her will serves us as material in which we pronounce the Fiat in her every act in order to form our worthy works of He who lives in her, we do as a king that makes use of the stones, tufa and bricks and mortar in order to form a sumptuous Palace as to amaze the whole world, poor king if might not have the stones, the necessary material in order to form the palace, with all that he might have his good will and coins to spend in order to form it, yet lacking the prime material, he would remain without palace.
“Thus are we, if there lacks us the will of the soul, with all our power and will that we hold, lacking the material we can not form in the soul the beautiful worthy palace of our residence.  Therefore when the creature gives us her will and takes ours, we are secure, we find everything at our disposition, little things and great things, natural things and spiritual things, everything is ours, and of everything we make use (of it) in order to make our omnipotent Fiat work.  And since our Will doesn’t know how to be without his work, he makes the re-call of all his works, in the palace that with so much love he has formed in the creature, he surrounds himself with all the works of the creation, Heavens, Sun, stars, they make homage, he puts in order in her all that which I did in the Redemption, my life, my birth, my infantile tears, my sufferings and prayers, everything, where my Will is nothing should lack, because everything from Him has gone forth, with right everything is his, and therefore where He reigns he forms the centralization of all his works.  And oh the beauties, the order, the harmony, the divine goods that become formed in this creature, the Heavens (are) stupefied and everyone admires the love, the Power of the Divine Will and trembling they adore him.  Therefore leave (the) work to Him, and He will do great things as to make you stupefied.
“Beyond this our love, our eternal Wisdom has established all the graces that we should give to the creature, the degrees of sanctity that she should acquire, the beauty with which we should pearl her, the love with which she should love us, and the acts themselves that she should do, where our Fiat reigns, everything becomes realized, the Divine order is in full vigor, not even a comma becomes moved, our work is in full harmony with the works of the creature, and oh how we delight ourselves, and when we have given her our last love in time, and she will have completed our last act of Divine Will in her mortal life, our love will give her the flight into the Celestial Country and our Will will receive her in Heaven, as triumph of His working and conquering Will that with so much love conquered upon the earth.  So that her last act will be the opening that she will make in Heaven, in order to give beginning in our Will so very happy, that will never have end.
“Instead where our Volition doesn’t reign, the divine order doesn’t exist, how many works of ours broken and no effect, how many divine voids, and filled perhaps with passions, with sins, there is no beauty, but deformity to make one pity.  Therefore be attentive and make that our Volition reigns and lives in you.”
Vol. 34, June 14, 1936

God's jealousy for a soul living in His Divine Will is so great even for all her acts and all that which interacts with her and all her attention and all her love.  It is none other than God's Divine Jealously for His own lives which He wants to form.  And the creature also acquires this same Divine jealousy wanting everything from God alone she comes to be the bearer of everything and everyone and she thereby wants to re-give all to God from whom she has received all, love for love.

This is (a) work of God, to hold (the) virtue to be able to form so many Divine lives for how many creatures have been put forth to the light of day.  After all the creature is ours, created by us, we live together, and because we love her, our love carries us with an irresistible force and power all ours to form ourselves as life in her, and our creative art, that not content with creating creatures, in the enthusiasm of his love he wants to create himself in the created person.  You see therefore in what conditions we find ourselves in the midst of the human family, in (the) act of always forming our lives in them, but our creative art remains rejected, suffocated without being able to continue our Divine Creation, while we live together with them, they live at our expense, they live because they live of us, and yet we have the great sorrow of not being able to form our life in them.  While this would be our maximum contentment, the greatest glory that they would give us if they might give us the liberty of making us life of every single creature.
“But do you know where we are free to form this life of ours? in one who lives in our Will, our Divine Fiat prepares for us the prime matter in order to form our life, he puts forth in attitude his power, his sanctity, his love and calls us in the depth of the soul, and we finding the adaptable and practical matter, we form with indescribable love our Divine Life, we not only form it, but we raise it and with our highest gusto and delight, we develop our creative art around this Celestial creature, and they commence the chain of the prodigies, she possessing her Creator, our Will working in her, becomes the bearer of everyone and of everything, if she thinks she brings us the thoughts of everyone and makes herself supplier and repairer of all the human intelligences, if she speaks, if she works, if she walks, she carries the words, the works, the steps of everyone, the Creation itself makes for her (a) decorous cortege, and makes herself bearer of the Sky, of the stars, of the Sun, of the wind, of everything, she leaves nothing behind, she brings us the homage, the glory of all our created things, even the homage of the sweet song of the little birdie, possessing the life of He who has created her, she makes them all crown, indeed everything wants to be brought by she who possesses the speaking act, so that for each one she tells the speaking story of love, for which they have been created by their Creator.
“So that who possesses our Volition acquires our Jealousy of love, that we want everything for us, and this with highest justice, because there is no thing that we have not given, hence with justice we want everything.  Thus she taken by our same folly of love wants everything, in order to give us everything and jealous she wants to bring us everything in order to say to us for everyone and for every single created thing her little word of love.
“Therefore who lives in our Volition, never remains alone, first she is with her Creator, with whom they always remain in competition of love, how can they love more, and all things being around her she makes herself bearer of everything to He whom she loves, that being infinite Love wants to see converted in the creature all things converted in love for his love.”
Vol. 34, July 4, 1937

The breath of God, in the soul living in the Divine Will forms, sip by sip, the completion of His divine life in her.   When He has filled the creature to the point where there is no more room to add even one more divine breath the life of the creature ceases, finished on earth to open to the immortal breath of God in Heaven.  This completed act is a masterpiece that glorifies God the most and holds Him enraptured but it can only occur in a soul living in the Divine Will.  When a creature lives of her own will she binds God's hands and prevents Him from accomplishing His desired plan ruining His story of love written for her and changing it to sorrow.  One can not enter Heaven unless they contain some portion of His divine life, be it even conception, or birth.  But the degree of glory that the soul will enjoy depends on the development of His divine life in her whether it is more or less complete.

This first act of ours, while it serves to give beginning and to form the life, the continuation, it serves in order to make of the creature a completed act of ours, and as we breathe (in) her thus we form in her our continuous acts in order to complete our divine life.  Our breath, as we give it, forms sip by sip the growth of this life of ours in the creature.  Our breath, as it gives itself, thus it forms our completed act of sanctity, of beauty, of love, of goodness and so on, and when we have filled her so much, in a way that we don’t have anywhere more to put our act in the creature, because she is limited, our breath ceases and her life finishes in earth, and in order to immortalize our breath in Heaven, we transport our fully grown life in her, our completed act, into our Celestial Country as triumph of our Creation.   There is no more beautiful rarity than these lives and completed acts of ours in the Celestial sojourn, they are the narrators of our power, of the enthusiasm of our love, they are speaking voices of our omnipotent breath, that alone could form the divine life, our completed act in the creature.  But do you know where we can form this life and this completed act of ours, for how much it is possible and imaginable for a creature to receive from her Creator?  [In] the soul that lives in our Divine Will and lets herself be dominated by Him.  Ah! only in her can we form the divine life and develop our completed act; our Volition disposes the creature to receive all the qualities and divine colors, and our breath not ever interrupted, as expert brush/(artist), paints with admirable and inimitable mastery the most beautiful tones and forms there the images of our Supreme Being; if it might not be for these images there would not have been that great work of the Creation, nor great work of the power of our creative hands, creating the Sun, the Sky, the stars and all the universe would have been a beautiful nothing for our power.  But instead all our power, the art of our divine arts, the indescribable excess of our intense love, it is to do our completed act in the creature with forming our life in her and so much is our gratification, that we ourselves remain enraptured in our act that we develop.  For us to do a completed act it is the greatest glory that glorifies us most, it is the most intense love that praises us most, it is the power that praises us continually.  But alas! for one who doesn’t live in our Volition, how many broken acts of ours, without conclusion, how many divine lives of ours hardly conceived or at the most born without growing.  [Creatures] break the continuation of our work and bind our arms without being able to go ahead; they put us in the impotence of a master who holds his earth and is prevented by his ungrateful servants from doing the work that he wants to in his earth, to sow it, to plant the plants that he wants; poor proprietor, to hold sterile earth, without the fruit that he could receive, for reason of his iniquitous servants.  Our earths are creatures and the ungrateful servant is the human volition, which opposing ours with hers puts us in impotence from forming our divine life in them.  Now you should know that in Heaven one doesn’t enter if one doesn’t possess our divine life, or at least conceived or born, and such will be the glory, the beatitude of the blessed, for how much growth has been formed of our life in them.  Now what will be the difference for one who has hardly let him be conceived, be born or grown with little proportions, from one who has let us form complete life? So much will be the difference, that it is incomprehensible to the human creature.  Those will be as the people of the Celestial kingdom, instead our images will be as princes, ministers, the noble court, the regal army of the great King.  Therefore one who does my Divine Will and lives in Him can say:  ‘I do all and I also belong from this earth to the family of my Celestial Father.’”
Vol. 29, October 12, 1931

I guess in the end the question comes down to who do you want, who do you trust to be the author of the story of your life?

Praise the Lord!
O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever.
Who can utter the mighty doings of the Lord,
or declare all his praise?
Happy are those who observe justice,
who do righteousness at all times.

Remember me, O Lord, when you show favor to your people;
help me when you deliver them;
that I may see the prosperity of your chosen ones,
that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation,
that I may glory in your heritage.
Psalm 106: 1-5

The Exultation of the Cross and the Value of Love

One morning – it was the day of the Exaltation of the Cross – my sweet Jesus transported me to the holy sites; and first, He told me many things about the virtue of the cross.  I don’t remember all, but just a few things:  “My beloved, do you want to be beautiful?  The cross will give you the most beautiful features that can possibly be found, both in Heaven and on earth; so much so, as to enamor God, who contains all beauties within Himself.”

Jesus continued:  “Do you want to be filled with immense riches - not for a short time, but for all eternity?  Well then, the cross will administer to you all kinds of riches - from the tiniest cents, which are the little crosses, up to the greatest amounts, which are the heavier crosses.  Yet, men are so greedy to earn a temporal penny, which they soon will have to leave, but do not give a thought to earning one eternal cent.  And when I, having compassion for them, in seeing their carelessness for all that regards eternity, kindly offer them the opportunity - instead of cherishing it, they get angry and offend Me.  What human madness – it seems that they understand it upside down.  My beloved, in the cross are all the triumphs, all the victories, and the greatest gains.  You must have no aim other than the cross, and it will be enough for you, in everything.

Vol. 1, September 14, 1899  The excellence of the cross.  In place of the cross she had till now, Luisa receives another much larger one.

In the first reading on the day of the Exultation of the Cross:

From Mount Hor they set out by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; but the people became impatient on the way. The people spoke against God and against Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we detest this miserable food.” Then the Lord sent poisonous serpents among the people, and they bit the people, so that many Israelites died. The people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned by speaking against the Lord and against you; pray to the Lord to take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. And the Lord said to Moses, “Make a poisonous serpent, and set it on a pole; and everyone who is bitten shall look at it and live.” So Moses made a serpent of bronze, and put it upon a pole; and whenever a serpent bit someone, that person would look at the serpent of bronze and live.

Numbers 21: 4-9

When I hear this reading I think of how the people had prayed to have the serpents taken away but God does not do this.  The serpents were a just punishment for complaining.  A balanced counter reaction to their action.  God couldn't just undo it.  Instead he gives them a way out.  He takes the punishment and makes a remedy for it just as he does with Jesus in the crucifixion.  Adam and Eve's action of abandoning the Divine Will for their own was embracing death over life and doomed them and their posterity to die.  So God, instead of undoing the deed and removing the punishment, now gives them a way out of it with the death of his own son Jesus.  He gives them a way to find a remedy from the punishment by using the image of the punishment man still dies but now with looking with the eyes of faith at Jesus' death we find our way through to his life..

Today, however, it seemed that God wanted to go a little deeper with me with this reading.  The punishment with the serpents poisoning them for complaining.  It always seemed a bit harsh to me.  Quite honestly I think if I had gotten bitten by a snake for complaining my first reaction wouldn't be to repent, it would be to graduate to cussing.  But the effects of complaining, of doubting the goodness of God, is just like a poison which continues to encourage greater doubt even to doubting the love of God for us and leads us to spiritual death.  When we doubt God's love for us we fall.  The first step into sin is doubting the love of God, which is death, just as it was with Adam and Eve.

In fact, do you want to know why Adam sinned? Because he forgot that I loved him, and he forgot to love Me. This was the first seed of his fall. Had he thought that I loved him very much and that he was obliged to love Me, he would never have decided to disobey Me. So, love ceased first, and then sin began; and as he ceased to love his God, true love toward himself also ceased. His members and powers rebelled against him; he lost dominion, order, and became fearful. Not only this, but true love toward other creatures ceased, while I had created him with the same love which reigned among the Divine Persons, by which one was to be the image of the other, the happiness, the joy and life of the other. This is why, in coming upon earth, the thing on which I placed greatest importance was that they love one another as they were loved by Me, in order to give them my first love, to let the love of the Most Holy Trinity hover over the earth.

Vol. 16, September 6, 1923

The Jews, bitten by the serpents, prayed for the punishment to be taken away but the punishment remained.  When bitten they still suffered the pain of the bite but God gave them a way through it so it would not lead to death.  When we sin we can't avoid or go around the punishment, but God is so good he gives us a way through to the other side.  Now what does this serve.  God is God and can do anything but will not go against Himself and will not do anything that is not useful.  When someone repents what then is the purpose of maintaining the punishment even when there is a way through it.

The true antidote to the poison of sin which causes man to doubt and disbelieve in the love of God is to teach man the true value and cost of love so that he would not cast it aside as flippantly as Adam and Eve did in the garden of Eden and so that in the future he will remember God's love for him in all instances.

Would you not condemn a man who, taken by a childish affection for a child, only to have him around a little bit, to amuse himself with him, would give him a banknote worth a thousand; and the little boy, not knowing the value of it, tears it to a thousand pieces after a few minutes? But if, on the other hand, first he makes the child desire it, then he makes him know its value, then the good which that banknote of a thousand can do for him, and then he gives it to him - that child will not tear it to pieces, but will go put it under lock and key, appreciating the gift and loving the giver more; and you would praise that man who had the ability to make known to the little child the value of money. If man does so, much more I do, who give my gifts with wisdom, with justice and with true love. Here is, therefore, the necessity of the dispositions, of the knowledge of the gift, of the esteem and appreciation, and of love for the gift itself. Therefore, knowledge of It is like the herald of the gift of my Will which I want to give to the creature. Knowledge prepares the way; knowledge is like the contract I want to make of the gift I want to give; and the more knowledge I send to the soul, the more she is spurred on to desire the gift and to solicit the Divine Writer to place the final signature – that the gift is hers and she possesses it. So, the sign that in these times I want to give this gift of my Will is the knowledge of It. Therefore, be attentive not to let anything escape you of what I manifest to you about my Will, if you want Me to place the final signature on the gift which I yearn to give to creatures.”

Vol. 18, December 25, 1925

When God's justice calls a punishment the remedy to the punishment is also a teaching to bring about a greater knowledge and esteem of God's love for us.  He uses everything to always draw us closer to himself.

In the gospel of the same day Jesus tells Nicodemus:   13 No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. 14 And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.  16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.  17 “Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
John 3: 13-17

and later in John,

31 Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out. 32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people[a] to myself.” 33 He said this to indicate the kind of death he was to die.
John 12:31-33

When we look at our Savior on the Cross we see the cost of love.  We see the just punishment which is our due for turning away from the Divine Will, the Divine Life and the Divine Love.  We have an advantage that Adam and Eve never had, an example to learn the price that one pays for sinning.

Poor Adam, how much it cost him to withdraw from my Will.  Just by feeling isolated, no longer surrounded by the cortege of the whole Creation, he felt such fright and horror, that he became the fearful man.  He was afraid of everything – even of my very works; and with reason, because it is said:  ‘One who is not with Me is against Me’.  Since he was no longer linked with them, by justice they were to put themselves against him.  Poor Adam, there is much reason to have compassion for him.  He had no example of anyone else who had fallen, and of the great evil that had occurred to him, so that he might be watchful in order not to fall.  He had no idea of evil.  In fact, my daughter, the evil, the sin, the fall of someone else has two effects:  for one who is evil and wants to fall, it serves as example, as a spur, as an incentive to fall into the abyss of evil; for one who is good and does not want to fall, it serves as antidote, as deterrent, as help and defense so as not to fall.  In fact, seeing the great evil, the misfortune of someone else, serves as an example in order not to fall and not to follow that same path, so as not to find oneself in that same misfortune.  So, the evil of someone else causes one to be watchful and on guard.  Therefore, the fall of Adam is for you a great help, a lesson and a call, while he had no lesson from evil, because, then, evil did not exist.”

Vol. 20, November 10, 1926

Adam and Eve had Divine Love and Life freely given to them with no cost.  They didn't know it's value.  They could not esteem it.  They threw it away because they were not able to know it rightly.  They did not know the cost of sin.  We only have to look at the crucifix and meditate on the Passion of our Lord to understand his incalculable love for us and to understand the horror of sin against God as well as the effects it has on us.  By not removing the punishment which we all have incurred from original sin but by giving us a way to go through it to the other side we now have the opportunity to know God better in his Love for us, to know ourselves better and our dependence on Him, to know the price that we pay when we turn away from His Divine Will and to know God himself and ourselves better.  God can not do useless things but always with highest wisdom, mercy and love to effect the greatest good for each and for all.  God can only Will good.

He would say:  “My Spouse, virtues become weak if they are not strengthened and fortified by the grafting of the cross.  Before my coming upon earth, pains, confusions, disgraces, calumnies, sufferings, poverty, illnesses, and especially the cross, were considered dishonors; but from the moment they were borne by Me, they were all sanctified and divinized by my contact.  They all changed their appearance, becoming sweet, pleasant, and the soul who has the good of having some of them, receives honor - and this, because she has received the vestment of Me, Son of God.  Only those who look and stop at the cortex of the cross experience the contrary; finding it bitter, they are disgusted by it, they complain, as if someone had done wrong to them.  But those who penetrate into it, finding it enjoyable, form their happiness in it.  My beloved daughter, I yearn for nothing else but to crucify you, body and soul.”

Vol. 1, Third marriage:  the Marriage of the Cross.

“If you knew what good the cross contains within itself, how precious it renders the soul, and what a gem of inestimable value one acquires, who has the good of possessing sufferings…  It is enough to tell you only that, in coming upon earth, I did not choose riches or pleasures, but I cherished as dear and intimate sisters, the cross, poverty, sufferings and ignominies.”

Vol. 1, Preciousness of the cross.  Jesus renews Luisa’s crucifixion many times.

Living Temples

The centurion answered, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant will be healed.  Matthew 8:8

The church recognizes the deeper meaning behind these words every time at mass we recite them saying:  "Lord I am not worthy that you should come under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed."   We were created to be a residence, a home for our Lord and not just a home but a temple.

After this, I remember that a few days passed and I received Communion.  I lost consciousness, and I saw, present before me, the Most Holy Trinity whom I had seen in Heaven.  I immediately prostrated myself at Their presence, I adored Them, I confessed my nothingness.  I remember that I felt so plunged within myself that I did not dare to utter a single word, when a voice came from Their midst and said:  “Do not fear, pluck up courage, We have come to confirm you as Our own, and to take possession of your heart.”  While this voice was saying this, I saw that the Most Holy Trinity descended into my heart and took possession of it – and there They formed Their dwelling.  Who can tell the change that occurred in me?  I felt divinized; it was no longer I who lived, but They were living in me.  It seemed to me that my body was like a residence, and that the living God was residing in it, because I could feel, sensibly, Their real presence in my interior.  I could hear Their voice clearly, coming from within my interior and resounding at the ears of my body.  It happened precisely as when there are people speaking inside a room, and their voices can be heard, clearly and distinctly, also outside.
From that moment on, I no longer had the need to go in search of Him somewhere else in order to find Him, but I could find Him there - inside my heart.  And when sometimes He would hide and I would go in search of Jesus, wandering around heaven and earth, searching for my highest and only Good, while I would be in the heat of my tears, in the intensity of my yearnings, amid unutterable pains for having lost Him, Jesus would come out from within my interior and say to me:  “I am here with you, do not look for me elsewhere.”
Vol. 1, The indwelling of the Divine Persons in the soul, of which they take possession and to which they give themselves.  It was then that they gave Luisa the gift of the Divine Will.

And again in Volume 2 he calls her his, "beloved dwelling", his "living temple."  And how much He loves us!  We are unable to comprehend it.

“How beautiful you are!  You are my simple dove, my beloved dwelling, my living temple, in which I am pleased to delight united with the Father and the Holy Spirit.  Your continuous languishing for Me relieves Me and refreshes Me from the continuous offenses that creatures give Me.  Know that the love I have for you is so great that I am forced to hide it in part, so that you may not go mad, but may live.  In fact, if I showed it to you, you would not only go mad, but would not be able to continue to live; your weak nature would be consumed by the flames of my love.”
Vol. 2, Sept. 9, 1899

Sin robs us of  this indwelling and totally deforms us from that which we were designed to be and makes us a dwelling of the devil full of impurities.

“Oh, man, how you have disfigured, deformed, disennobled yourself!  Oh, man, I made you so that you might be my living temple, but you have made of yourself the dwelling of the devil.  Look, even the plants, by being covered with leaves, flowers and fruits, teach you honesty and the modesty you must have with your body; but you, having lost any modesty and even the natural reserve you should have, have become worse than the animals, so much so, that I have nothing else to which to compare you.  You were my image, but now I no longer recognize you; even more, I am so horrified at your impurities, that the mere sight of you nauseates Me, and you yourself force Me to flee from you.”
Vol. 2, Aug. 1, 1899

The human will is the only thing that has to ability to stop God from saving us.  A God for whom just to want is to do, but he will not go against the free will which he has given to man.  To do so would be to go against himself.  So if the creature does not give him full freedom to do and act in her as he wants than his plans will always remain frustrated and incomplete for that indivdual.

“You should know that when I elect a soul, I form there my residence, and I want to be free in my house to do that which I want, and to remain as pleases me, nor do I want restrictions from the part of the creature; I want absolute liberty, otherwise I would become unhappy and impeded in my way of acting.  It would be the greatest misfortune, even to the poorest (person), to not enjoy liberty in his little hovel, and I would incur the misfortune of a poor individual, that having formed a residence with so much love, when he has equipped it and put it in order he enters in order to live there, but with his sorrow there becomes made impositions and restrictions for him; it is said to him:  ‘In this room you can not sleep, in this one you can not receive, in this other one you are not able to pass.’  In short he can not remain as he wants nor do that which he wants, so that the poor little one feels unhappy, because he has lost his liberty, and he has repented of the sacrifices that he has made (in order) to build this residence.  Such am I; how many labors, how many sacrifices, how many graces have I not poured out in order to adapt one creature for my residence, and when I take the possession of her, more than everything I love and want liberty in my house, and when I find now the repugnancies, now the restrictions, instead of the residence adapting itself to me, I must adapt myself to her, hence I can’t develop either my life or my divine ways, nor is it given to me to complete the purpose for which with so much love I selected this residence.  Therefore I want liberty, and if you want to make me happy leave free to do that which I want.”
Vol. 29, May 4, 1931

When Jesus drove the money lenders out of the temple he was spiritually driving out the human will so that the Divine Will might reorder the human temple and restore it to what it was meant to be.

...when I took the ropes to drive the profaners out of the temple, it was the human will that I was driving out, so that Mine might enter, reigning and dominating, and they might be truly rich in their souls and no longer subject to natural poverty.
Vol. 20, Oct. 26, 1926

The one time in which Jesus demonstrated an anger, a righteous anger was in cleansing the temple.  Those who profane and lead others astray rob Jesus of souls.  The profaning of Jesus' temples both the church and the soul is the catalyst which leads to other sins.  This is an act which can not be ignored by Divine Justice and brings about chastisements.

I cried and prayed, saying to the Lord:  ‘Do not permit that they arrive at this – profaning your sacred temples – because who knows how many terrible chastisements You would unload upon your creatures because of these horrendous sins.’
While I was saying this, He told me:  “My daughter, the cause of all these enormous crimes – because one sin is the cause and chastisement of making others fall into more sins – have been the sins of priests.  They have been the first to profane my holy temple hiddenly with sacrilegious masses, and by mixing impure acts in the administration of the Sacraments.  And under the appearance of holy things, they have reached the point of profaning not only my temples of stone, but of profaning and using violence on my living temples, which are the souls, and of profaning my very Body.  The secular have somehow perceived all this, and not seeing in them the light necessary for their journey – or rather, they have found nothing but darkness – they have been left so clouded as to lose the beautiful light of faith; and without light, it is no wonder that they reach such grave excesses.
Vol. 7, Oct. 20, 1906

Perhaps another sign of our times in the suspension of our being able to be present at Mass these days.  Jesus speaks in the above passage about how the priests have led to the lose of faith but Jesus also states that it is the human will that is the first profaner of his temple.  It requires sufferings to cleanse the temple from the effects of the human will.  Luisa was no exception to this.  She was cleansed even of her human will wanting the physical presence of Jesus to be with her over the Will of God.  So even in what appears holy to us we must bow before Gods Will even in the denial of receiving Sacrament Communion these days.

...your hard martyrdom is nothing other than the consummation of what does not belong to It. Don’t you know that the human will is the profaner of the creature? When it has its little ways, the slightest holes through which to enter into her, it profanes the holiest things, the most innocent ones. And my Will, which made of man Its sacred and living temple, in which to place Its throne, Its dwelling, Its regime, Its glory, feels that if the creature gives the little entries to the human volition, It feels Its temple, Its throne, Its dwelling, Its regime and Its very glory being profaned. Therefore, my Will wants to touch everything about you – even my very presence, to see whether Its dominion is absolute over you and you content yourself that It alone dominate you and have primacy in you. Everything in you must be Divine Will, so that It may be able to say: ‘I am sure, she has denied Me nothing – not even the sacrifice of the presence of her Jesus, whom she loved more than herself. Therefore, my Kingdom is safe.”
Vol. 23, Jan. 22, 1928

Each epoch; law, grace, and now the Kingdom of the Divine Will, has brought us closer and closer to Gods original plan for us.  Although some Christians might claim that now we are no longer bound by the law of Moses the law of grace is actually more exacting.  But even under grace there is still room for us to exercise our own wills.  The law of living in his Will brings us to the point where we are even more bound.  Now all must be under the dominion of God's Will and his law must be truly written on our hearts so that that which he wants we want too.

14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
Romans 6:14

But now we are discharged from the law, dead to that which held us captive, so that we are slaves not under the old written code but in the new life of the Spirit.
Romans 7:6

and you show that you are a letter of Christ, prepared by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are competent of ourselves to claim anything as coming from us; our competence is from God, who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of letter but of spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Now if the ministry of death, chiseled in letters on stone tablets, came in glory so that the people of Israel could not gaze at Moses’ face because of the glory of his face, a glory now set aside, how much more will the ministry of the Spirit come in glory? For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, much more does the ministry of justification abound in glory! 10 Indeed, what once had glory has lost its glory because of the greater glory; 11 for if what was set aside came through glory, much more has the permanent come in glory!
12 Since, then, we have such a hope, we act with great boldness, 13 not like Moses, who put a veil over his face to keep the people of Israel from gazing at the end of the glory that was being set aside. 14 But their minds were hardened. Indeed, to this very day, when they hear the reading of the old covenant, that same veil is still there, since only in Christ is it set aside. 15 Indeed, to this very day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their minds; 16 but when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.
2Corinthians 3:3-18

Living in the Divine Will frees God to act completely and wholly as he Wills.  There is no hindrance from priests who might mislead his people or circumstances which inhibit his generosity and his love.  God unveils himself to the creature so that the creature might be transformed into his image from one degree to the next.

This is why I want to make the sanctity of living in my Will; in them, I will have no need of priests for Me to be consecrated, nor churches, tabernacles or hosts; but they will be everything together:  priests, churches, tabernacles and hosts.  My love will be more free; anytime I want to consecrate Myself, I will be able to do it - in every moment, day and night, in whatever place they might be.  Oh! how my love will have its complete outpouring.
Vol. 12, Nov. 27, 1917

Living in the Divine Will is not a completion unto itself it allows us to grow more perfectly in the image of God.  This step process continues with each act the soul does in the Divine Will and she goes becoming the repeater of the life of Jesus.  And although we give the Divine Will dominance in ourselves Jesus tells us that by doing so we also become the dominator of God.

And since the creature is incapable of giving us everything in one act, that which by Us is formed in one act alone, her littleness goes spacing in our Will, and she now takes one work of ours, and now another, and with the dominion that our Will gives her, she descends in the Incarnation of the Word, and oh how beautiful it is to see her invested with his love, pearled with his tears, adorned with his wounds, possessor of his prayers, all the works of the Word surround her inside and outside, and that which is more, it converts for her, into joys, into beatitude, into fortitude with the inseparability of her Jesus as in (a) sacred temple held in her heart in order to make her the repeater of his Life.  And oh, what moving scenes she does before God, with her Jesus in (her) heart, she prays, suffers, loves together with Jesus, and in her infantile littleness she says: I possess Jesus, He dominates me and I Him, indeed I give him that which He doesn’t hold, my sufferings in order to form his complete life in me.  He is poor of sufferings because glorious, he can not have any, and I supply him in that which he doesn’t hold, and He supplies me in that which I lack.  So that in our Will the creature is the true queen, everything is hers, and she makes us such surprises with our works, that it enraptures us, and forms our happiness, that the creature can give to us in our Most Holy Will.”
Vol. 33, Feb. 10, 1934

This growth in the Divine Will is defined by how much the creature is capable and wants from it.  The goal is always to both love the creature more and to make the creature capable of loving his God more and more.  And the most beautiful and precious gifts that God can give to the creature are knowledges.  It is only with a new or clearer truth that the creature is able to want that which comes from God and thereby ask for it allowing God to act.  This expands the field of action of the creature and grows and expands Gods residence in the creature.

“My daughter, the Creation of man was the center where our Divinity centralized all the goods that should rise in the creature, we put in her Divine Life and Divine Will, human life and human will; human life should serve us as residence, and the two Wills fused together should make life in common with highest accord, indeed the human will should take from ours in order to form her acts, and ours should remain in the continuous act to give of his, in order to make that the human will might remain modeled and all informed in the Divine Will.  Now, there is no life, as much human, spiritual and divine, that doesn’t have need of food in order to grow, in order to become stronger, to embellish and to felicitate himself.  More so that we put our Divine life in man, [and] because he was incapable of receiving the whole fullness of our Divine Being, we put in him how much he could contain of our life, giving him the liberty to let him grow how much more he could and wanted.  Hence our life in man for growth had need of food, behold the necessity to put in him a Divine Will; our Divine life would not have adapted himself to foods of the human will.  Behold therefore all the acts of the creature done in virtue of and in our Divine Will, would serve to feed and to make our Divine Life grow in her, in a way that as soon as she went doing her acts in our Fiat, now she took our love and fed us, now she took our fortitude, now our infinite sweetness, now our Divine joys in order to feed us.  What order, what harmony put between him and us in creating man between him and us, even to ask of him our own foods through his means, not because we had need, no, but in order to maintain the enthusiasm of love, the correspondence, the inseparable union between him and us.  And while he occupied himself with us, we occupied ourselves with feeding him and with conserving our dear residence, not only, but making him other more beautiful gifts in order to render him more happy, to love him more and make ourselves more loved.  But do you want to know what are our most beautiful gifts that we make the creature?  To manifest to her a knowledge of our Supreme Being, a truth that pertains to us, one secret of ours is the most beautiful gift that we make her; each of these gifts is one more bond that we put between Her and us, our every truth is a property that we put in her soul.  Behold therefore that in the soul where our Will reigns we find our Divine foods, our property for how much it is possible for a creature, our residence, hence we find ourselves in our house, in our center, in the midst of our properties.
Vol. 29, Aug. 3, 1931

But now there is a wonderful reciprocity in all of this.   Even from the Old Testament in God's promise to David when he wanted to build a temple, a house for the covenant and thereby for God, we are not just the residence, the temple of God but God in fact becomes our residence, our temple.

11 from the time that I appointed judges over my people Israel; and I will give you rest from all your enemies. Moreover the Lord declares to you that the Lord will make you a house.  2 Samuel 7:11

As God rested in his creature at the end of the work of Creation so he has promised that we too will rest in him where he becomes our residence, our temple and we will be free from any danger and happy.

The soul gives Jesus a dwelling in time, and He gives it to the soul in eternity.
Continuing in my usual state, I was saying to blessed Jesus:  ‘Oh, how I wish to love You, to be loved more by You!’  And He, in my interior, told me:  “I love you so much that I never leave you, and I dwell in you continuously.”  And I:  ‘Thank You for your benignity in dwelling in me, but I am not so content; I would be more content and would feel safer if I could dwell in You.’  And He:  “Ah, my daughter, in time you give a dwelling to Me, and in eternity I will give it to you; and be well content and sure that the One who dwells in you has the power to maintain your dwelling fortified and free of any danger.”
Vol. 7, Nov. 12, 1906

Jesus tells us that as the soul lives in grace she transforms from a simple residence to a Temple of God.  But when a soul then takes that step to live in the Divine Will God then makes himself the Temple of the soul.  The first always remains in danger of collapse due to the weakness of the human will but the second is secure and can not be overthrown by the enemy.  And the creature is given the freedom, true freedom, to act in a divine way.  She is given the authority  to call into action the acts of her Jesus, or that of Creation, or of Sanctification all as she wills.  And God and the creature will never be separated again  but will always be free to love and enjoy each other's company in the security of this Living Temple.

"Now you should know that the soul in grace is the Temple of God.  However when the soul lives in our Will, God makes himself Temple of the soul, and oh, the great difference between the creature Temple of God and between God Temple of the soul; the first one is a temple exposed to perils, to enemies, subject to passions, many times our Supreme Being, finds himself in these temples as in temples of stone, not cared for, not loved as is appropriate, and the little lamp of her continuous love, that she should hold as homage to her God that resides in her, without pure oil is extinguished, and if ever she were to fall into grave sin, our temple collapses and she becomes occupied by thieves, ours and her enemies, that profane her and they make her foolish.
“The second Temple, that is God Temple of the soul, is not exposed to dangers, enemies can not draw near, the passions lose life, the soul in this Divine Temple of ours is like the little Host that holds consecrated in Herself her Jesus, which with the perennial love that she draws, she receives and is fed, forms the little living lamp, that always burns, without ever going out, this Temple of ours occupies its regal post, his complete Volition and she is our glory and our triumph.  And the little Host what does she do in this Temple of ours?  She prays, loves, lives of Divine Will, substitutes for my Humanity upon the earth, takes my post of sufferings, calls the whole army of our works to make cortege, the Creation, the Redemption, she holds it as hers, and does (as) the commander above, and now puts it as army around in act of prayer, of adoration, now as army in act of loving us and glorifying us, but she (is) always at (the) head, to do that which she wants that our works do, and she always finishes with her little refrain so very appreciated by Us:  your Volition be known, loved and reign and dominate in the entire world.  So that all the anxieties, the sighs, the interests, the solicitudes, the prayers of this little Host, that lives in our Divine Temple, that our Fiat embraces everyone, puts apart all the evils of creatures, and with his almighty puff he makes his the post in the hearts of everyone, in order to make himself life of every creature.
“Can one ever do (a) more beautiful office, more holy, more important, more useful to Heaven and earth, (than) this little Host that lives in our Temple?  Beyond this our love, our power makes all the shows, all the industries, all the stratagems, with one who lives in our Will, he makes himself little and encloses himself in the soul, in order to form his life, and of this remains only the castoffs in order to remain covered, he makes himself immense that is, and he forms (of) himself (a) sumptuous Temple, in order to hold her secure within, and to enjoy her company.  For one who does our Will she is always occupied with Us, and We are always occupied with her, therefore watch well to make yourself found always in our Will.”
Vol. 33, March 11, 1934

So if you want to be secure in holding onto the not just passing Sacramental presence of Communion but the real living presence of our Lord and God, secure as in his own Living Temple then look to living in the Divine Will.  It's the only way to obtain this to have his living presence even when circumstances in this world might otherwise deny Him to us.
