The Trinity

I began this post wanting to focus on the Holy Spirit, but the more I tried to isolate the gifts, virtues and actions of the Holy Spirit the more I found that it is impossible to write about the one without including the other persons of the Holy Trinity.  So I will instead assemble a post about the most Holy Trinity as found in the Volumes.

Luisa saw the image of God's Holy, operative Trinity most perfectly in the sun.  One sun with three aspects; fire, light and heat from which all goods on the earth can trace their origin.  Three distinct aspects of one being which can not be separated from each other but each have their own appearance and role.

in the sun, in which I see a special shadow of God.  I see Him as though concealed within this sphere, as the king of all other spheres.  What is the sun?  It nothing but a globe of fire.  One is the globe, but its rays are many; from this we can easily understand how the globe is God, and the rays are the immense attributes of God.
Second.  The sun is fire, but it is also light and heat.  Here is the Most Holy Trinity veiled in the sun:  the fire is the Father, the light is the Son, the heat is the Holy Spirit.  However, the sun is one, and just as one cannot separate fire from light and heat, so one is the power of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who in reality cannot be separated from one another.  And just as fire produces light and heat at the same time, in such a way that fire cannot be conceived without light and heat; in the same way, the Father cannot be conceived before the Son and the Holy Spirit, and vice versa, but all Three of the Them have the same eternal beginning.

Vol. 2, (4) How she sees the Divinity of Jesus.

As a little side note, this image of the Trinity, symbolized in the sun, worked very well to befuddle an atheist Jew who was knocking the idea of the Trinity.  Very rarely would I see him at a loss for words but this was one instance where he didn't have a come back.

I love this image of the Trinity in the sun.  The fire, the source of all, the light, the manifestation of the fire in order to make it known and understood and the heat, the passion and active fecundator of the two which transforms everything into it's own nature of fire.

In another example Luisa explains the manifestation of the Trinity which although different still contains that idea of the Father being the source, the Son being the messenger, the revealer of the Father and the Spirit being the active essence of the two.

“I manifest Myself to the soul in three different ways:  by power, by news and by love.  The power is the Father, the news is the Word, the love is the Holy Spirit.”
Vol. 3, December 22, 1899

Again God the Father is the source, the power which creates and conserves, the Son is the light, the news which always seeks to reach out to creatures to make himself known and loved and the love is the burning transformative nature of the Holy Spirit which always seeks to sanctify and transform all into fire.

And again.

...the Heavens opened and I heard everyone say, in chorus:  “Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit”.  I don’t know how, but it was my turn to answer:  ‘As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.’  But who can say what was happening?  In the word “Father” one could see the creative power flowing everywhere, preserving everything, giving life to everything.  The mere breath of this word was enough to maintain everything He had created intact, beautiful and ever new.  In the word “Son” one could see all the works of the Word, renewed, ordered, and all in act of filling Heaven and earth to give themselves for the good of creatures.  In the word “Holy Spirit” one could see all things being invested with a speaking, operative and vivifying love.  But who can say everything?
Vol. 19, March 2, 1926

And again with another image of the sun although this time there are three suns and she sees how we were created to be transformed into the perfect image and likeness of our God in each of his three persons through our three powers of will, memory and intellect.

I found myself outside of myself, and in looking into the vault of the heavens, I saw three Suns:  one seemed to set in the east, another in the west, and the third in the south.  The splendor of the rays that they sent forth was so great that they united with one another, in such a way as to become one.  I seemed to see the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity, and man, formed with the three powers in Its image.  I also understood that for one who stayed in that light, his will would be transformed in the Father, his intellect in the Son, his memory in the Holy Spirit.
Vol. 3, May 9, 1900

This idea of being transformed is also supported in the Bible and even in Thur. 6/15/2017's first reading:

All of us, gazing with unveiled face on the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory,
as from the Lord who is the Spirit.
2 Cor 3:15—4:1, 3-6 (for the full first reading)

It is this complete union that God so desires in each of us, so that he can expand his own field of action.  Although he is God and can do and reach all he will not over step the free will which he endowed in each of us and therefore must conquer each of us in love first before he will act.  But when we invite him in to move, act and have live in us by living in His Divine Will, each act becomes part of the one continuous act of the generation found within the Trinity but now within the creature.  How is it even possible to grasp such a concept to a created limited mind.  We are called to share in the inner most secrets and mysteries of God himself in as much as a limited creature can.  So that this living in the Divine Will is nothing that we can take credit for.  All comes from Him, we only say; yes or no.

“Now, this union with Me - part to part, mind to mind, heart to heart, etc. - produces in you, in the highest degree, the life of my Will and of my love.  In this Will, the Father is formed; and in this love, the Holy Spirit; and through the operating, the words, the works, the thoughts, and everything else that can come from this Will and from this love, the Son is formed – and here is the Trinity in souls.  So, if We need to operate, it is indifferent whether We operate in the Trinity in Heaven, or in the Trinity within souls on earth.  This is why I keep taking everything else away from you, be they even good and holy things:  to be able to give you the best and the holiest – which is I; and to be able to make of you another Myself, as much as it is possible for a creature.  I believe you won’t lament any more, will you?”
Vol. 11, June 12, 1913

Here Jesus attempts to explain the significance of what is contained or more precisely what overflows from this one continuous act of God.  This is the act which God wants to reproduce within us.

“My daughter, listen still to me, where can the soul arrive that lives in our Will.  She puts all of our works to daylight.  Our Supreme Being always holds in continuous act all her works.  For us the past and the future don’t exist, so that the Celestial Father generates continually his Son, and between the Father and the Son proceeds the Holy Spirit.  This is life in us, and is as the heartbeat and the respiration, that forms our life:  to generate and to proceed continually.  We would be missing life if this were not so, as would be missing the life to the creature if she didn’t have a heartbeat and a continuous breath.
“Now, in this continual generating and proceeding becomes formed immense joys, felicity and such contentments, that not being able to contain them inside of us, they overflow outside and form the joys and felicity of all heaven.
“From the immense goods that the continuous generation of the Word and the proceeding of the Holy Spirit produces, overflowed outside the sumptuousness and magnificence of the machine of all creation, the creation of man, the Conception of the Immaculate Virgin and the descent of the Word upon the earth; all this and (more) is always in act in our Divine Being, as it is always in act that the Father generates his Son and the Holy Spirit proceeds.
Vol. 35, August 23, 1937

Everything is contained and has it's origin and is conserved in this one continuous act of God which it to Him as breath and heartbeat to usBut in a special and more complete image is man who was created in God's image and likeness, that which he did not do in all the rest of CreationEach man is a complete microcosm and reflection of the whole in which God wants to continue his one continuous act of creating, loving, conserving, and sanctifying.

My daughter, do not marvel; everything is possible in my Will.  True love, when it is perfect, commences from oneself.  The true model is the Most Holy Trinity.  My Celestial Father loved himself and in his love generated his Son, hence he loved himself in the Son.  I, his Son, loved myself in the Father, and from this love proceeded the Holy Spirit.  (In) this loving oneself the Celestial Father generated only one love, only one power and sanctity, and so on; it bound the inseparable union of the three Divine Persons.
“And when we created the creation we loved ourselves.  So that we loved ourselves in stretching out the sky, in creating the sun; it was the love of ourselves that pushed us to create so many beautiful things worthy of us and inseparable from us.  And when we created man, the love of ourselves made itself more intense, and loving ourselves in him, our love reproduced our life and likeness in the depth of his soul.
Vol. 35, October 19, 1937

Man was created to be the palace of God, bound by three perfect routes of communication with God in man's will, memory and intellectBut man willingly cast God out and corrupted his senses disordering them from their purpose.

I endowed man with will, intellect and memoryIn the first shone my Celestial Father who, as primary act communicated His power, His sanctity and His height, through which He elevated the human will, investing it with His own sanctity, power and nobility, leaving all currents between Himself and the human will open, so that it might be enriched more and more with the treasures of my Divinity.  Between the human will and the Divine there was neither ‘yours’ nor ‘mine’, but everything was in common, with mutual accord.  Man was Our image - Our own thing; so, he veiled Us.  Our Life was to be his; therefore, as primary act He constituted his will free and independent, just as the Will of my Celestial Father was, as primary act.  But how much has this will disfigured itself!  Free as it was, it rendered itself the slave of most vile passions.  Ah! it is the will that is the beginning of all the evils of man - it can no longer be recognized.  How it decayed from its nobility - it is disgusting to look at.
Now, as second act, I, Son of God, concurred by endowing man with intellect, communicating to him my wisdom and the knowledge of all things, so that by knowing them, he might enjoy them and delight in what is good.  But, alas, what a bilge of vices is the intelligence of the creature!  He has used knowledge to deny his Creator.
Then, as third act, the Holy Spirit concurred by endowing him with memory, so that in remembering so many benefits, he might be in continuous currents of love, in continuous relations.  Love was to crown him, embrace him and permeate all of his life.  But how saddened the Eternal Love remains!  This memory remembers pleasures, riches, and remembers even to sin, while the Sacrosanct Trinity is cast out of the gifts which It gave to Its creature
“My sorrow was indescribable at seeing the deformity of the three powers of man.  We had formed Our royal palace in him, and he had cast Us out.
Vol. 14, April 8, 1922

Man was created in the image and likeness of God.  This reflection can be seen in the unity and distinctness of the three powers of man.   These powers of the will, the memory and the intellect are still operative in man but disordered in that they do not receive the vivifying rays of the sun of the Divine Will.  They are the channels of communication wit God but are blocked by the thick clouds of the human will.

“My daughter, how many prodigies of Ours concurred in creating man! With Our breath, the soul was infused in him, and in the soul Our paternal goodness infused three Suns, by which We formed in it the perennial and refulgent day - not subject to any night. These three Suns were formed by the Power of the Father, by the Wisdom of the Son, by the Love of the Holy Spirit. While being formed in the soul, these three Suns remained in communication with the Three Divine Persons, in such a way that man possessed the way through which to ascend to Us, and We possessed the way through which to descend in him. These three Suns are the three powers: intellect, memory and will. While being distinct among them, they hold hands and arrive at forming one single power, symbol of Our adorable Trinity, since while being three distinct Persons, We form one single Power, one single Intellect, and one single Will. Our Love in creating man was so great, that It felt content only when We communicated Our Likeness to him. These three Suns were placed in the depth of the human soul, just like the Sun in the depth of the vault of the heavens, which keeps the earth in feast with its light, and gives life to all plants with its admirable effects, giving to each one the flavor, the sweetness, the color and the substance that befits it. In its tacit silence, the Sun guides the earth, instructs everyone – not with words, but with facts, and with such eloquence that no one else can reach it; and with its penetrating light it becomes life of everything that the earth produces. Look: there is only one Sun for the entire earth, but for the soul Our Love was not content with one alone. And finding Ourselves in the ardor of Our love for giving and giving…, We formed three Suns, by which all the human acts were to be directed, animated and receive life. What order, what harmony We placed in Our beloved and dear son!
Now, my daughter, these three Suns exist in man, but they find themselves in the same condition of the Sun that shines in the heavens when it is surrounded by thick clouds and cannot fill the earth with the vividness of its light. Even though the communications are neither interrupted nor broken by the clouds, the earth receives its effects with difficulty, and does not enjoy all the good which the Sun could do to it. So, not receiving all the life of the Sun, it is as though ill, its fruits are insipid and unripe, and many plants are without fruits. Therefore the earth is melancholic, without feast, because the clouds have prevented it from receiving all the fullness of the light of the Sun, so as to be crowned with glory and honor. Such is the condition of man: all things are in place, between Us and him nothing is broken or interrupted, but the human will has formed thick clouds, and therefore one sees man without the glory, the order and the harmony of his creation. His works are without fruits, rotten and without beauty; his steps are unsteady. One can say that he is the poor ill one, because he does not let himself be directed by the three Suns which he possesses within his soul. Therefore, in coming to reign, the first thing that my Will will knock down will be the human volition. Blowing, It will dispel the clouds, and man will let himself be directed by the three Suns he has in the depth of his soul, and which possess Our communication; and immediately He will rise to Our origin, and everything will be feast and glory for Us and for him.

Love one another as I have loved you

34 I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.  Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
John 13:34

12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
John 15:12

I've often heard this passage in the Bible interpreted as that we should strive to love as God loves.  But this is not what it says and when taken in the context of the knowledge of God's call to the creature to live in his Will it becomes that much more of a command.  We are called to love with God's love as God loves.  So we need live in Gods Will so that we first have access to his loving with his love and we need to understand how God loves to expand our field of action so as to reciprocate his love as he desires.  In the Creation of man Jesus tells us that God's love reverberated throughout all the Creation and repeated his "I love you" to man.  And innocent man was able to respond for each "I love you" from God an "I love you" of his own.

“My daughter, in the first act of the creation of man, Our love overflowed so strongly and raised its flames so high, as to make its arcane voices heard, so strong and penetrating, that the heavens, the stars, the sun, the wind, the sea and everything felt invested by mysterious voices crying out over the head of man: ‘I love you, I love you, I love you.’ These arcane and powerful voices called man; and he, as though stirred from a sweet sleep and feeling enraptured by each ‘I love you’ of the One who had created him, also cried out in his surge of love - in the sun, in the heavens, in the sea and in everything: ‘I love You, I love You, I love You, oh my Creator!’ Our Divine Will which dominated Adam did not let him lose anything, not even one ‘I love you’ of Ours to which he would not respond with his own. It was lovely, a sweet enchantment, to hear him, as the power of Our Divine Fiat would take the ‘I love You’ of Our son, the dear jewel of Our Heart, upon the wings of Its light, and invading the whole Creation, he would make Us hear, in each created thing, his continuous ‘I love You’, just like Our own. Our Divine Will does not know how to do broken and interrupted things, but continuous.
Vol. 25, March 13, 1929

But Jesus tells us that at the moment of Creation all creatures that were to come to the light of day had a deposit of love put within all created things so that each and all would receive this love of God for them through the Creation.  He further tells us that this love is supposed to be sought out by the creature and reciprocated.  And this not only forms a feast for God but it also embellishes the creature with the distinct quality of his love deposited there making her an owner of that distinct love which then allows her to love more and more as God loves us.

“Indeed, my daughter, my love poured out in torrents toward the creature in each created thing.  I told you somewhere else, I confirm to you now, that as my uncreated love created the sun, it placed in it oceans of love.  And in each drop of light that was to inundate the eye, the step, the hand, and everything of the creature, my love ran within it; and almost pounding sweetly upon the eye, the hand, the step, the mouth, it gives her my eternal kiss and it holds out my love to her.  Together with the light runs the heat, and pounding on her a little more strongly, almost impatient for the love of the creature, to the point of pelting her, I repeat to her, more strongly, my eternal ‘I love you.’  And if the sun, with its light and heat, fecundates the plants, it is my love that runs for the nourishment of man; and if I extended a heaven above man’s head, studding it with stars, it was my love that, wanting to delight man’s eye, also at night, spoke to him my ‘I love you’ in each sparkling of star.  So, each created thing holds out my love to man; and if it were not so, Creation would have no purpose; and I do nothing without purpose.  Everything was made for man; but man does not recognize it, and he has turned into sorrow for Me.
Vol. 12, Jan. 9, 1920

“My daughter, you know that the Creation was an outlet of our love and while we brought forth the Creation to the light of day, we held everyone present, not one creature escaped us and we put for each one of them, in every created thing a deposit of love that should love her and tell her always he loves you, your Creator loves you.  So that if created things race in order to give to them the good that they possess, it is our love that makes them race.  If the Sky extends itself over the head of everyone it is our deposit of love that gives it the right.  If the Sun gives its light to everyone it is the inheritance of the love that everyone holds in the Sun of its Creator.  If the earth is firm under her steps, it is our deposit of love, that makes it take as in womb from mother earth the creature and assuring her step says to her beneath her plants:  he loves you, He who has created you loves you.  If the water quenches you, it is our cry of love, that races in the water and quenches you, washes you, gives the humor to the plants and so many other goods that it does.  If the fire doesn’t burn you it is our deposit of love, that they are the properties of the creatures that cry out warm my daughter, do her no harm, and thus with all the other things.
“Now I want to tell you a consoling thing, if the creature enters into created things, recognizes this deposit of love of ours in every one of them and makes resound her love in ours, she prepares the table to her Creator.  You see in the Sun alone how much diversity of foods of love you can prepare for us, in that light there is the sweetness of our love, and you loving us to the touch of ours you sweeten yours and give us the food of love that sweetens us, in that light there are the tastes of our love and loving us you give us the joys of so many tastes of our love, in that light there is our fecund love, the love that wounds, burns and consumes, and you loving us will acquire the divine fecundity in your love, the virtue to wound us, to burn yourself and consume yourself for us, there is also the variety of the colors that embellishes everything, and you loving us will acquire the virtue of the beautiful love in which you will remain as mantled with an enchanting beauty and oh how we will feel enraptured.
“Daughter if I might want to speak to you (of) the multiplicity and diversity of love that we have put in every created thing for every creature, I would not finish, and how she holds the duty to know this our manifold love, in order to find the model to love us, with so many distinct loves, as we have loved her.  But alas! our love remains isolated without the company of the love of the creature and this is a sorrow for us that our love [is] not recognized in every created thing, while everything holds the mandate from us to love her with (a) distinct love, in the wind races the puffs of our kisses, the billows of our loving caresses, the groans of our suffocated love, in the impetuosity of the wind our ruling love that wants to make itself known in order to reign over everyone, and at times it arrives as to almost speak with deafening cries, in order to make that she might be able to hear no other than our love that loves her.
“Oh! if the creature might recognize our love that races in the wind, she would restitute our kisses and our caresses to us with hers, (as) with the rest, because we kiss her and we caress her because we want to be kissed and caressed by her, she would groan together with our love in order to not make us suffocate, she would love us with hers and our ruling [love], and crying out together with our love, she would deafen everyone with saying we love you, we love He who loves us so much; also in the air that everyone breathes how much love doesn’t race, but no, not in intervals as in the other created things, but in every instant, in every breath, if she sleeps, if she works, if she walks, if she eats, our love races always but with a distinct and new love, with all the other created things, in the air our love races that gives life, with an enchanting rapidity that no one can resist, it races in the heart, in the blood, in the bones, in the nerves, in everything, and constitutes itself vital act of the human being and silently says to them, I bring you the continuous love of your Creator and because (it’s) continuous, I can give you life; oh if they might recognize us in the air that they breathe, the act of life that we have put in it, the enthusiasm of our love that races, races always without ever stopping, she would give us for exchange her life in order to love us, in order to tell us our story of love and to repeat our refrain I love you, I love you always in everything, and in every thing, as You have loved me.  From the greatest created thing even to the littlest there is one new and distinct love of ours for creatures, and since they don’t know it they don’t reciprocate us, rather with highest ingratitude they reciprocate our love in offenses.
“And therefore we await that our Will is known and dominant in the midst of the human generations, which will be the revealer of our love, and then we will do it again and we will love each other with one love alone.  How content we will be and seeing ourselves loved we will add on other new and distinct loves, thus our love won’t be repressed anymore but will have its outlet of love and of being loved in return.  Therefore pray that our kingdom comes and you recognize our love, and if you want love(,) love us, if we don’t find our love in the creature, we don’t know what to give her, nor what to do because there lacks the knoll where to put our graces and the first element that forms our life in her.”
Vol. 34, June 18, 1937

This can only happen with a creature that lives in the Divine Will and with it God says that he will then be able to send new distinct aspects of his love to creatures.  So as allowing God to even love us more.  We need to remember that God's love toward us is not limited to his expression of love in the Creation but there is an accordance of love for everything and every act which is allotted to us.  So that we are as surrounded by love inside and outside in every moment.

“My daughter, my love for the creature is great.  Do you see how the light of the sun invades the earth?  If you could make many atoms out of that light, in those atoms of light you would hear my melodious voice and, one after the other, they would repeat to you:  ‘I love you, I love you, I love you…’, in such a way as to give you no time to count them.  You would remain drowned inside love.  And indeed, ‘I love you, I love you, I love you…’ in the light that fills your eyes; ‘I love you’ in the air that you breathe; ‘I love you’ in the whistling of the wind that touches your hearing; ‘I love you’ in the warmth and in the cold felt by your touch; ‘I love you’ in the blood that flows in your veins.  My heartbeat says ‘I love you’ in the beating of your heart.  I repeat to you ‘I love you’ in each thought of your mind; ‘I love you’ in each action of your hands; ‘I love you’ in each step of your feet; ‘I love you’ in each word… because nothing happens inside or outside of you without the concurrence of an act of my love toward you.  So, one ‘I love you’ of mine does not wait for another.  And your ‘I love you’s’? How many are for Me?”
Vol. 11, April 23, 1912

“My daughter, to you, who are the firstborn daughter of my Supreme Will, I want to make known how the whole Creation, upon the wings of my Eternal Volition, brings my ‘I love you’ to the creatures; and the creatures, upon the same wings of my Will, making It their own, should give Me the requital of their ‘I love You’. Look at the azure sky: there is not one point of it in which an ‘I love you’ of mine toward the creature is not impressed. Each star and the glittering that forms a crown around it are studded with my ‘I love you’s’. As each sun’s ray extends toward the earth to bring light, each drop of light carries my ‘I love you’. And as the light invades the earth and man looks at it and walks on it, my ‘I love you’ reaches into his eyes, into his mouth, into his hands, and extends under his feet. The murmuring of the sea murmurs ‘I love you, I love you, I love you’, and all the drops of water are as many keys which, murmuring among themselves, form the most beautiful harmonies of my infinite ‘I love you’. The plants, the leaves, the flowers, the fruits, have my ‘I love you’ impressed in them. So, the whole of Creation brings to man my repeated ‘I love you’s’. And man - how many of my ‘I love you’s’ does he not have impressed in his whole being? His thoughts are sealed by my ‘I love you’; the beating of his heart that palpitates in his chest with that mysterious sound, ‘tic, tic, tic…’, is an ‘I love you’ of mine, never interrupted, which says to him: ‘I love you, I love you…’. His words are followed by my ‘I love you’; his movements, his steps and all the rest, contain an ‘I love you’ of mine. And yet, in the midst of so many waves of my love, he is unable to elevate himself to requite my love. What ingratitude – and how grieved is my love left.
Vol. 16, Aug. 1, 1923

“My daughter, Our Love toward creatures is so great, that in each act she does, Our Love runs to love her, and Our Will to form the life of her act. So, in each thought that she forms in her mind, it is an act of love that We send to her; and Our Will offers Itself to form the life of her thought. In each word that she pronounces, in each beat of her heart, in each step that she takes, there are as many acts of Our Love that run toward her; and Our Fiat offers Itself to form the life of her word, the beating of her heart, the step of her feet. Therefore, the creature is kneaded with Our Love, she lives under the sweet storm of Our Love, over her hangs Our incessant Love that loves her so much, and Our Fiat that runs rapidly to give life to each of her acts, be it even the smallest. Oh! if creatures knew how much We love them, how so inclined We are toward them, to love them always, always, as to let not even one thought of hers escape Us, in which We do not send her Our special and distinct Love - oh! how they would love Us; and Our Love would not remain as though isolated, without the love of the creatures. Our Love descends continuously toward the creatures, and their little love does not deign to rise toward their Creator. What sorrow, my daughter, to love and not to be loved. And this is the reason why, when I find a creature who loves Me, I feel her love harmonizing with Mine; and as my Love descends toward her, so does her love ascend toward Me. I abound so much for her, with graces, with favors and with divine charisms, as to astonish Heaven and earth.”
Vol. 28, Aug. 12, 1930

This love for us extends even more that the small field of our existence in time and place on the earth.  His love is triple, as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as Creator, Redeemer and as Lover.  He loves us as his image and receiver of his love and as a unique individual and he loves us both in time and outside of time, from both before Creation and after Creation.  And he wants that this triple love be returned to him so that there is nothing that comes from us which isn't love.

This morning, having received Holy Communion, I saw my adorable Jesus for a little while, and as soon as I saw Him, I said to Him:  ‘My sweet Good, tell me, do You continue to love me?’  And He:  “Yes, but I am loving and jealous, jealous and loving.  Even more, I tell you that in order to be perfect, love must be triple, and in Me there are these triple conditions of love:  first, I love you as Creator, as Redeemer and as Lover.  Second, I love you in my omnipotence which I used in creating you, and in creating everything for love of you, in such a way that air, water, fire, and everything else, tell you that I love you and that I made them for love of you; I love you as my image, and I love you out of regard for you individually.  Third, I love you ab aeterno [from eternity], I love you in time, and I love you for all eternity.  And this is nothing but a breath that came out of my love; imagine, yourself, what must be the love I contain within Myself.  Now, you are obliged to return to Me this triple love, loving Me as your God in whom you must fix all of yourself, and let nothing come out of you which is not love for Me; loving me out of regard for yourself and for the good that comes to you; and loving Me for all, and in all.”
Vol. 4, Jan. 11, 1902

Now if this seems overwhelming it did to Luisa as well.  But there is a secret to this game of love.  We are incapable of containing this immensity of love, of embracing it and understanding it.  All we need to do is return it in his Divine Will with our own little note of love for him which now makes it a new Creation to him.  We're like an instrument through which the breath of his love passes creating a new expression of his love.

And as He was saying this, He kissed me over and over again, telling me:

“I love you, but with an eternal love; I love you, but with an immense love; I love you, but with a love that is incomprehensible to you; I love you with a love that will never have limits nor an end; I love you with a love that you will never be able to match.”

But who can say all the titles with which Jesus said that He loved me?  And at each title He spoke, He waited for my answer.  Not knowing what to say to Him, and not having sufficient titles to match Him, I told Him:  ‘My Life, You know that I have nothing, and whatever I do I take from You, and then I leave it in You again, so that my things, remaining in You, may have continuous attitude and life in You, while I remain always nothing.  Therefore I take your love, I make it my own, and I say to You:  “I love You with an eternal and immense love; with a love that has no limits and no end, and that is equal to yours”.’  And I kissed Him over and over again.  As I kept repeating, ‘I love You’, Jesus became calm, took rest, and disappeared.

The Three Powers of Man

Man was made in the image and likeness of God.  This image is composed of the will, the intellect and the memory.

How many things I understood! But I am unable to manifest them.
Vol. 3, May 9 1900

These three powers were meant to be more than just the image of God in the creature they were an open line communication to each of the Three Divine Persons.  A continual current to keep the creature enriched with all the treasures and qualities of the Divine.  Instead fallen man has used these three powers to deny God and break any connection turning in on himself.

Finding myself in my usual state, I was thinking about the sorrow that my sweet Jesus suffered in the Garden of Gethsemani, when all of our sins presented themselves before His Sanctity.  And Jesus, all afflicted, told me in my interior:

“My daughter, my sorrow was great and incomprehensible to created mind, especially when I saw the human intelligence deformed - the beautiful image of Myself which I reproduced in it, no longer beautiful, but ugly and horrid.
“I endowed man with will, intellect and memory.  In the first shone my Celestial Father who, as primary act communicated His power, His sanctity and His height, through which He elevated the human will, investing it with His own sanctity, power and nobility, leaving all currents between Himself and the human will open, so that it might be enriched more and more with the treasures of my Divinity.
“Now, as second act, I, Son of God, concurred by endowing man with intellect, communicating to him my wisdom and the knowledge of all things, so that by knowing them, he might enjoy them and delight in what is good.  But, alas, what a bilge of vices is the intelligence of the creature!  He has used knowledge to deny his Creator.
“Then, as third act, the Holy Spirit concurred by endowing him with memory, so that in remembering so many benefits, he might be in continuous currents of love, in continuous relations.  Love was to crown him, embrace him and permeate all of his life.  But how saddened the Eternal Love remains!  This memory remembers pleasures, riches, and remembers even to sin, while the Sacrosanct Trinity is cast out of the gifts which It gave to Its creature.
“My sorrow was indescribable at seeing the deformity of the three powers of man.  We had formed Our royal palace in him, and he had cast Us out.”
Vol. 14, April 8, 1922

Not only did man lose the likeness of his Creator in sinning but he as shut the door in the face of God who had created man as his palace and kingdom where he would reign cooperatively with man.  It is only through the reordering of these powers so that they might harmonize once again will God have his full triumph and his kingdom be secure once again.

My daughter, man was created by God with three powers:  memory, intellect and will; and this, so that he might have the links of communications with the Divine Persons of the Sacrosanct Trinity.  These were like paths along which to ascend to God, like doors through which to enter, like rooms in which to form the continuous dwelling – the creature for God, God for the creature.  These are the royal paths of both of them, the gold doors which God placed in the depth of the soul through which the Supreme Sovereignty of the Divine Majesty might enter; the safe and unshakeable room in which God was to have His celestial dwelling.  Now, in order to be able to form Its Kingdom in the inmost place of the soul, my Will wants to find these three powers, given to the creature to raise her to the likeness of the Creator, in order with the Father, with the Son and with the Holy Spirit.  My Will would not go out of Its dominions if these three powers of the soul were in order with God, and Its reigning would be happy and as though natural, because, her three powers being in order with God, the creature would have order within herself and outside of herself, and the Kingdom of the Will of God and that of the creature would not be a divided Kingdom, but a single one, and therefore Its dominion and regime would be one.  More so, since my Will does not know how to reign where there is no order and harmony - inseparable qualities and indispensable properties of the Divine Persons; and the soul can never be ordered and harmonize with her Creator if she does not have her three powers open to receive from God His qualities ordered and His properties harmonized, in such a way that, finding the divine harmonies and the supreme order of the Divine Kingdom and of the human kingdom, my Will may make them one and reign in It with Its full dominion.
“Ah! my daughter, how much disorder reigns in the three powers of the human soul.  One can say that they have shut the door on Our face, they have barricaded the paths to prevent Our passing and to break the communications with Us, while it was the greatest gift We gave man in creating him.  These three powers were to serve him to comprehend the One who had created him, to grow in His likeness, and, his will being transfused in that of his Creator, to give Him the right to let It reign.  This is why the Supreme Volition cannot reign in the soul if these three powers – intellect, memory and will – do not hold hands in order to return to the purpose for which God created man.  Therefore, pray that these three powers may return to the order and the harmony of their Creator, so that my Supreme Will may reign with Its full triumph.”
Vol. 19, Aug. 12, 1926

Jesus again returns to the symbol of the sun.  Three suns representing the three powers and Three Divine Persons.  He states that man without the guidance of these suns lives in darkness.  Man's will chooses the darkness over the light and therefore there is no light to guide his decisions or heat to warm him.  It is only by reordering man's will with the Divine Will that once again God and man return to the ordered harmony that was found in man's origin.

Blowing, It will dispel the clouds, and man will let himself be directed by the three Suns he has in the depth of his soul, and which possess Our communication; and immediately He will rise to Our origin, and everything will be feast and glory for Us and for him.”

Three in One; The one generative Act of the Trinity

The mystery of the Trinity has always been just that, something which the created mind can not ever fully comprehend.  We were given the symbol of the clover through St Patrick and in the last post the symbol of the sun.  Here Jesus seems to want the creature to understand his Creator as much as is possible as he continues to give explanations of the nature of the Trinity.

The nature of the Most Holy Trinity is formed of most pure, most simple, communicative Love.

This morning, as I was outside of myself, I found myself with Baby Jesus in my arms; and while I delighted in looking at Him, I don’t know how, from the same Baby a second came out, and after a few instants, a third Baby, both of Them similar to the first, though distinct among Themselves. Stupefied in looking at this, I said: “Oh, how one can touch with hand the sacrosanct mystery of the Most Holy Trinity, that while You are One, You are also Three.’ It seemed to me that all Three of Them spoke to me, but as the word came out, it became one single voice: “Our nature is formed of most pure, most simple, communicative Love, and the nature of true Love has this of its own: it produces from itself images fully similar to itself in power, in goodness, in beauty and in everything it contains; and only to give more sublime prominence to Our Omnipotence it places the mark of distinction, in such a way that, melting in love, this nature of Ours - which is simple, with no matter at all which might prevent Our union - forms Three [Persons]; and returning to melt, it forms One. It is so true that the nature of true Love has this prerogative of producing images fully similar to itself, or of assuming the image of the beloved, that the Second Person, in redeeming mankind, assumed the nature and the image of man, and communicated the Divinity to man.”
While They were saying this, I could distinguish my beloved Jesus very well, recognizing the image of the human nature in Him, and only because of Him I had the confidence to remain in Their presence; otherwise, who would have dared? Ah, yes! It seemed to me that the humanity assumed by Jesus had opened commerce for the creature, so as to let her ascend up to the throne of the Divinity to be admitted to converse with Them, and to obtain deeds of graces. Oh, what happy moments I enjoyed! How many things I understood; but in order to describe something, I would have to describe it when my soul is with my dear Jesus, as she seems to be set free from the body. But as I find myself imprisoned again, the darkness of the imprisonment, the distance of my mystical Sun, the pain of not seeing Him, render me incapable of describing it, and make me live dying. Yet, I am forced to live, fastened, imprisoned in this miserable body. Ah, Lord, have compassion for a miserable sinner who lives infirm and imprisoned! Break soon the wall of this prison, that I may fly to You and come back no more.
Vol. 4, Dec. 3, 1900

Jesus states that the Trinity's nature is Love, which is simple, pure, immaterial, communicative, and continually produces similar images of itself and is capable of taking on the image of that which it  loves.   It is this ability to take on the image of the beloved which has allowed us, as fallen creatures who have lost the likeness of our Father, the opportunity to communicate with the Trinity, through Jesus, and have the complete image and likeness returned to us in order to renew and restore the fellowship and familial relations which we lost through sin.  Here Jesus continues to speak on the subject of Love being the unifying nature of the Trinity.

“My daughter, do not marvel; everything is possible in my Will.
“One cannot give if not that which one holds; and since our love was perfect, loving ourselves we could separate ourselves from that which went forth from us.
“Now, our Will, with wanting the creature to live in him in order to form his Kingdom, loving himself he wants to give that which he possesses; and then he is content, when he forms the repetition of our life, when he works in the acts of the creature, and triumphant and victorious, with our highest glory and honor, he carries them into our divine bosom, in order to have us recognize our life in his work of one who lives in his Volition.
“It is proper this what it means to love oneself in that which one wants to do and to produce; giving himself, in order to be able to form another being similar to himself.
“Our Will is the fecundator and sower of our life, and where he finds souls disposed he loves himself, with his love he fecundates them and there he sows his divine acts, which, united together, forms the great prodigy of the divine life in the creature.
“Therefore leave yourself in the authority of my Will, and allow that he may do with you that which he wants to do, and you and we will be happy.”
Fiat!!!
Vol. 35, Oct. 19, 1937

It is the nature of the Most Holy Trinity to want to form images of himself, that is to give that which he is in order to continue the circle of Love.  That which he is by nature he wants to repeat in the creature and thereby continue his one simple and complete act but the creature must live in his Will in order for him to do this.  Here Jesus continues to give a more detailed explanation of what this act consists of when operating in the creature.

“My blessed daughter, my Will produces the light in the soul, the light generates the knowledge, light and knowledge love each other and generate love. So that where my Supreme Will reigns the Sacrosanct Trinity reigns in act. Our adorable Divinity is carried in nature, in an irresistible way, without ever interrupting to generate continually, and the first generating act we do (is) in ourselves. The Father generates me continually, and I his Son, feel myself generated in Him continually, the Celestial Father generates me and loves me, I am generated and I love him, and from the one and the other proceeds the love. In this generative act without ever ceasing it encloses all our admirable knowledges, our secrets, our beatitudes, the times, our dispositions, our Power and wisdom all as much the Eternity, enclosed in one single generating act, which forms all the whole of our Divine Being. Hence this reciprocal Love of ours that forms the third Person of our inseparable Supreme Being from us, it seems that he is not content with our generating act in ourselves, but he wants to generate outside of ourselves, in souls, and behold we entrust the assignment to our Will animated by our Love, that descends in souls and goes to form with his light our divine generation, indeed he can do this in one who lives in our Volition, outside of Him, there is no post in order to form our Divine Life, our word would not find the hearing in order to make himself listened to and lacking our knowledges, the love would not find the substance in order to generate, and behold our Most Holy Trinity disarranged in the creature. Therefore only our Will is that which can form this divine generation of ours. Hence be attentive to listen to that which this light wants to say to you, in order to give him the field to his generating act.”
Vol. 31, Aug. 14, 1932

His Will produces the light in the soul of the creature, from the light comes the knowledge and these love each other recognizing themselves in each other and from this come the love.  Here we have the operative, generative act of the Trinity living in the creature.  But the essence comes first from the Divine Will.  Without this there is no light, no ability to recognize the knowledge, the truths and therefore no relationship to generate love in the soul.  This image of the Trinity is furthermore found in all of the epochs.

Furthermore, Creation, Redemption and the Fiat Voluntas Tua on earth as It is in Heaven, symbolize the Sacrosanct Trinity. In fact, just as the Divine Persons are inseparable from one another, so these works are inseparable from one another: each one gives the hand to the other; each one helps the other – the triumph, the glory, belongs to all three of them. And since Our Will has held the primary place in all Our works, Creation and Redemption remain eclipsed and as though dissolved within the immensity and the endlessness of the Supreme Will. Our Will envelops everything and keeps the very things done by Us as Its throne, from which It reigns and dominates. So, if Our Will is everything, why are you surprised that It will produce greater fruits than Our other works? And man will receive that Life which he has, but does not know, because he keeps It as though compressed, drowned, weakened, while It moans and sighs, because It wants to carry out Its Life, but It is not allowed to do so.
“Therefore, be attentive, because the knowledge of my Will will shake man, and will be like cement on the woodworm which original sin produced in the tree of the human generations; so that, once the root has been strengthened, the creature may allow that Life, which she had rejected with so much ingratitude, to live within herself.”
Vol. 19, March 19, 1926

The Creation brings to the light of day the works of God and is the light, the Redemption manifests the knowledges of God, the truths, the operative union of these forms the Triune essence that is Love, alive, acting and sanctifying.   This Love fecundates, grows, and replicates and expands the light and knowledges but the source is always the Will which encompasses everything.  To live in the Divine Will is to invite the Trinity to live and act and love from within oneself.  It is to give the Trinity a new throne from which to continue his one generative act.
